My Story
When I was fourteen years old, I was invited to the birth of my nephew. That powerful morning changed my life forever, as I had never before witnessed something so beautiful and potent, as a child being born into this world. Many years later my dear friend asked if I would help at her birth, and this began my journey as a doula. I studied with Felicia Roche in the Bay Area almost twenty years ago, and have been helping women in the birth space ever since.
Through Prodoula, I received my labor and postpartum certification. In 2024 I became a midwife assistant, and received my training with Birth Assistant Education. I worked at the California Birth Center in Rocklin for over a year, and then assisted with Sierra Homebirth in 2025. I absolutely love assisting and learning from incredible midwifes, and gaining more experience to be of service in the world of birth. I currently have my First Aid, CPR. and AED Certification with the American Heart Association. I also have my NRP certification with The American Academy of Pediatrics.
In 2025, I continued my education by completing an Advance Lactation Training, to support more families during their breastfeeding journey. Through witnessing many families during the sacred postpartum time, and seeing different struggles arise with their newborns, I was also inspired to enroll in a Infant Craniosacral Therapy class. It has been wonderful to weave this modality into my work with families. Currently, I am enrolled in a class with Birth Arts International to receive a Bereavement Support Certification. This will allow me to better support families who experience loss.
I have been a Nevada County resident for almost two decades, and during that time, met my husband, and have been raising a family together. We love the outdoors, and going on adventures including hiking, biking, paddle boarding, camping and boating. We took a year sabbatical in 2022-2023, and lived on a sailboat in the Caribbean, which was truly and adventure of a lifetime! My experience living on the water has given me a lifelong tool of staying calm under pressure in all sorts of situations. I have been able to bring this with me into the birth world, and am grateful to the ocean and the elements of the earth for helping me learn this valuable skill.

My Approach
I love being a mother, and though it has challenges, I'm incredibly grateful to raise two children in this life. Through my own journey of motherhood I understand and value the importance of the work I do as a doula. I am deeply committed to supporting families during the birth and postpartum periods, as I believe that how they navigate this transformative time is crucial to their overall well-being.
I love being a birth and postpartum doula because it allows me to be of service during one of the most profound experience of a family's life. Supporting families during this critical period is immensely rewarding, as I get to witness the incredible strength and resilience that emerges during childbirth and the nurturing that unfolds in the weeks that follow. I find joy in providing emotional, physical, and informational support, helping parents feel empowered and confident in their journey. Being a part of this intimate process allows me to foster connections, offer guidance, and create a safe space where families can thrive, ensuring that they feel seen, heard, and supported in their unique experiences.
I value evidence based birth education, and love to continue learning all of the time. During the process of bringing children into this world I understand there is so much to navigate. I am comfortable working in many different environments, including working besides medical staff. There is power in knowing the physiology of birth, as well as the mental, emotional, and spiritual side of this transformative journey. I believe in the power of intention and prayer. This deep understanding allows me to be available to hold the space of birth as a ceremony.
